A Peaceful Goodbye at Home

Every appointment is centered around your pet's comfort. Dr. Lauren and Jessica take time to explain the process, answer your questions, and allow your family to move at a pace that feels right.


Your pet receives pain-relieving and sedation medication first, allowing them to become deeply relaxed and comfortable before the final euthanasia medication is given.

Your pet can rest wherever they are happiest — their favorite bed, your lap, a blanket on the floor, or a peaceful place outside.

What to Expect During an In-Home Euthanasia Appointment

When Dr. Lauren and Jessica arrive at your Wittmann home, we will first spend time talking with you and getting to know your pet.

We will explain each step before anything happens and answer any questions you may have.


1. Getting Comfortable

Your pet can be wherever they are happiest — on their favorite bed, curled up on the couch, outside in the sunshine, or resting in your arms.

Family members and other household pets may be present if you wish.


2. Relaxation & Sedation

Your pet is given medication to help them become deeply relaxed and comfortable.

You can remain beside them, hold them, talk to them, give them treats, or simply sit quietly together.


3. A Peaceful Goodbye

Once your pet is completely relaxed and your family is ready, Dr. Lauren will administer the final medication.

We will guide you through the process gently and give your family the time and privacy you need.


4. Aftercare

After your goodbye, Roadrunner Relief can respectfully transport your pet and coordinate the aftercare option you have selected.

Your pet is treated with dignity and respect throughout every step of their journey.

 

Fire Cremation & Water Cremation Options

Every family has different wishes for their pet's aftercare. Roadrunner Relief is proud to provide families with a choice between traditional fire cremation and water cremation, also known as aquamation.


🔥 Fire Cremation

Traditional cremation uses heat to respectfully care for your pet's remains.

Private cremation options allow your pet's ashes to be returned home to your family, or your pets remains can be respectfully spread on your behalf.


💧 Water Cremation / Aquamation

Aquamation uses water, gentle temperature, and an alkaline solution instead of flame.

Families who choose private aquamation can also have their pet's remains returned home, or your pets remains can be respectfully spread on your behalf.


There is no universally "right" choice. We are happy to explain both options so you can choose what feels most appropriate for your family and your pet.


Memorial Keepsakes

Small keepsakes can become incredibly meaningful after saying goodbye.

Depending on the aftercare option selected, memorial options may include items such as:

• An urn
• Clay paw print
• Ink paw or nose print
• Fur clipping
• Returned ashes with private aftercare

We will explain your options before your appointment so you know exactly what to expect.

Roadrunner Relief may be able to provide same-day in-home euthanasia appointments in Wittmann, Arizona, depending on availability.

There are no additional charges based on your pet's weight, distance within our normal service area, emergency appointments, or same-day appointments.


In-Home Euthanasia (No cremation services) ---- $450

Compassionate in-home euthanasia without cremation services.


In-Home Euthanasia + Communal cremation (No ashes returned) ---- $550

Includes in-home euthanasia and communal traditional cremation or communal Water cremation, Your pets ashes will be spread respectfully on your behalf. 


In-Home Euthanasia + Private Fire Cremation ---- $650

Includes in-home euthanasia and private traditional cremation with your pet's ashes.


In-Home Euthanasia + Individual Water Cremation (Aquamation) ---- $650

Includes in-home euthanasia and individual aquamation with your pet's remains.

Yes. Roadrunner Relief provides compassionate in-home euthanasia for both dogs and cats. 

Yes. Companion pets may remain in the home during the appointment if your family is comfortable with that.

Some families also choose to allow companion pets to see or smell their friend afterward, which can give them an opportunity to investigate and process the change in their own way.

Yes. This is a personal decision for each family. We encourage age-appropriate conversations and allow families to decide what feels best for their children. 

Absolutely.

Your pet can be wherever they are most comfortable — their bed, couch, favorite blanket, outside, or in your arms when practical.

Our goal is for your pet to be relaxed and comfortable before the final medication is administered. Dr. Lauren will explain the medications and process during your appointment. 

Yes. Roadrunner Relief can coordinate both fire cremation and water cremation/aquamation after your pet passes. 

Yes. Ashes returned aftercare options are available for families who would like their pet's remains returned home.

Changes in mobility, appetite, breathing, pain, bathroom habits, interaction with family, ability to rest comfortably, and the number of good days compared with difficult days can all help families evaluate quality of life.
