In-home euthanasia is a compassionate service that allows your pet to pass peacefully in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, surrounded by the people and places they love most.
Knowing when its time is one of the hardest decisions a pet owner will ever make. Signs that your pet's quality of life may be declining include chronic pain, difficulty breathing, inability to eat or drink, inability to stand or walk comfortably, loss of interest in favorite activities, and more bad days than good days. We are always available to discuss your pet's quality of life and help guide you through this difficult decision.
We begin by discussing your pet's condition and answering any questions you may have. Your pet is then given a combination of sedative and pain-relieving medications to help them become deeply relaxed and comfortable. Once your pet is peacefully resting, the euthanasia medication is administered, allowing them to pass gently and painlessly.
No. Our goal is to ensure your pet is comfortable and free from pain or anxiety. We use pre-sedation and pain management medications to provide a calm, peaceful transition.
We utilize a carefully selected combination of sedatives and pain medications prior to administering the euthanasia solution. These medications help relieve pain, reduce anxiety, provide deep relaxation, and allow your pet to rest comfortably before the final medication is given.
Most appointments last between 45 minutes and one hour, allowing families plenty of time to say goodbye without feeling rushed.
Yes. In fact, many families choose to offer their pet favorite treats or special foods before the appointment, as long as their pet is still interested in eating.
Yes. Children may be present if the family feels it is appropriate. We encourage honest, age-appropriate conversations and can help guide families through this process.
Absolutely. Many families find comfort in allowing other household pets to be present. Animals often benefit from seeing and smelling their companion after they have passed.
The appointment can take place wherever your pet is most comfortable—on their favorite bed, in your living room, outside in the yard, or anywhere that is meaningful to your family.
Most pets become relaxed and sleepy within several minutes after receiving their sedation medications. The exact timing can vary depending on the pet and their medical condition.
No. Once the sedation medications take effect, pets become deeply relaxed and are often asleep before the euthanasia medication is administered. We believe the last sensory to go is hearing, We encourage families to talk to their pets even with their hearts.
After your pet has peacefully passed, we allow families as much time as they need to say their final goodbyes. We then provide aftercare services according to your wishes.
We offer private cremation, where your pet's ashes are returned to you, as well as communal cremation, where ashes are not returned. We are happy to discuss all aftercare options available.
Yes. Families may choose home burial if permitted by local regulations, or they may arrange private aftercare independently.
We recommend choosing a comfortable location for your pet, gathering family members who wish to be present, preparing favorite blankets or treats, and considering any special items or rituals that may bring comfort.
This is completely normal. We understand how difficult this decision is and will support you every step of the way. You are never rushed, and we are here to answer questions and provide guidance.
Depending on availability, we may be able to accommodate urgent or same-day requests. Please contact us directly to discuss your pet's needs.
Not always. Many pets' eyes remain partially or fully open after they pass. This is a normal physical response and does not indicate discomfort or awareness.
Sometimes. As the body's muscles relax during sedation or after passing, pets may release urine, stool, or occasionally take a final breath or have minor muscle movements. These are natural bodily responses and do not mean your pet is experiencing pain or distress.
There is no right timeline. Some families choose to keep belongings exactly as they are for a period of time, while others find comfort in creating memorials or donating items to local shelters. Grief is personal, and there is no correct way to navigate it.

Many families choose in-home euthanasia because it allows their pet to remain in a familiar environment, reduces stress and anxiety associated with travel and veterinary clinics, provides privacy, and allows for a peaceful, dignified goodbye surrounded by loved ones.
