In-home euthanasia allows your pet to remain somewhere familiar.

Your pet can rest on their favorite bed, curl up beside you on the couch, lie outside in the sunshine, or simply remain surrounded by their family.


We take our time, explain each step, and give your family the space you need to say goodbye.

What Happens During an In-Home Euthanasia Appointment?

Every pet and family is different. Dr. Lauren and Jessica will guide you through the appointment so you know what to expect.


1. We Come to Your Glendale Home

Dr. Lauren and Jessica come directly to you.

When we arrive, we'll meet your pet, talk with your family, answer your questions, and explain the process before beginning.


2. Your Pet Remains Comfortable

Whenever practical, your pet can stay wherever they are happiest.

That might be their bed, a favorite blanket, the couch, your lap, or a peaceful place outside.

Family members and companion pets are welcome to be present.


3. Relaxation & Sedation

Your pet is given medication to help them become deeply relaxed and comfortable.

You can stay beside them, hold them, talk to them, give them favorite treats, or simply spend quiet time together.


4. A Peaceful Goodbye

Once your pet is relaxed and your family is ready, Dr. Lauren will administer the final medication.

We will explain what is happening and remain with your family throughout the process.

After your pet passes, we give you time to say goodbye.

There is no need to rush these final moments.


5. Respectful Aftercare

If you choose aftercare through Roadrunner Relief, we can respectfully transport your pet and coordinate the cremation or aquamation option selected by your family.

Your pet will continue to be treated with dignity and respect throughout every step of their journey.

 

Fire Cremation & Water Cremation Options

Every family has different wishes for their pet's aftercare. Roadrunner Relief is proud to provide families with a choice between traditional fire cremation and water cremation, also known as aquamation.


🔥 Fire Cremation

Traditional cremation uses heat to respectfully care for your pet's remains.

Private cremation options allow your pet's ashes to be returned home to your family, or your pets remains can be respectfully spread on your behalf.


💧 Water Cremation / Aquamation

Aquamation uses water, gentle temperature, and an alkaline solution instead of flame.

Families who choose private aquamation can also have their pet's remains returned home, or your pets remains can be respectfully spread on your behalf.


There is no universally "right" choice. We are happy to explain both options so you can choose what feels most appropriate for your family and your pet.


Memorial Keepsakes

Small keepsakes can become incredibly meaningful after saying goodbye.

Depending on the aftercare option selected, memorial options may include items such as:

• An urn
• Clay paw print
• Ink paw or nose print
• Fur clipping
• Returned ashes with private aftercare

We will explain your options before your appointment so you know exactly what to expect.

There are no additional charges based on your pet's weight, distance within our normal service area, emergency appointments, or same-day appointments.


In-Home Euthanasia (No cremation services) ---- $450

Compassionate in-home euthanasia without cremation services.


In-Home Euthanasia + Communal cremation (No ashes returned) ---- $550

Includes in-home euthanasia and communal traditional cremation or communal Water cremation, Your pets ashes will be spread respectfully on your behalf. 


In-Home Euthanasia + Private Fire Cremation ---- $650

Includes in-home euthanasia and private traditional cremation with your pet's ashes.


In-Home Euthanasia + Individual Water Cremation (Aquamation) ---- $650

Includes in-home euthanasia and individual aquamation with your pet's remains.

Yes. Roadrunner Relief provides compassionate in-home euthanasia for both dogs and cats. 

Yes. Companion pets may remain in the home during the appointment if your family is comfortable with that.

Some families also choose to allow companion pets to see or smell their friend afterward, which can give them an opportunity to investigate and process the change in their own way.

Yes. This is a personal decision for each family. We encourage age-appropriate conversations and allow families to decide what feels best for their children. 

Absolutely.

Your pet can be wherever they are most comfortable — their bed, couch, favorite blanket, outside, or in your arms when practical.

Our goal is for your pet to be relaxed and comfortable before the final medication is administered. Dr. Lauren will explain the medications and process during your appointment. 

Yes. Roadrunner Relief can coordinate both fire cremation and water cremation/aquamation after your pet passes. 

Yes. Ashes returned aftercare options are available for families who would like their pet's remains returned home.

Changes in pain, breathing, appetite, hydration, mobility, bathroom habits, ability to rest comfortably, interest in family activities, and whether your pet is experiencing more difficult days than good days can all help you evaluate their quality of life.


Your regular veterinarian can also help assess your pet's medical condition and prognosis.
